Burj Clean Energy Modaraba signs Ijarah agreement with Pakistan Cables Limited for a 7.5 MW wind turbine project at their facility in Nooriabad, Sindh.

As the country’s pioneer in wind power for industrial clients, BCEM continues to expand its footprint.

BCEM will develop, own, and operate the plant as lessor, with Pakistan Cables as lessee. Orient Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. brings Goldwind turbine technology as EPC contractor, and HBL – Habib Bank Limited has backed the transaction with a project financing facility to BCEM.

For Pakistan Cables, wind is now an addition to their existing renewable power sources alongside solar at Nooriabad. It moves them closer to leading the industry on renewable energy, and locks in a share of their power costs against grid tariffs and fuel price movements.

For BCEM, this is a strong vote of confidence from Pakistani industry, proof that the market is ready for a model where we take the capital and operating risk, so our partners don’t have to.

The question is no longer whether industry can run on wind. It’s who’s next. Our thanks to Pakistan Cables Limited for their trust, to HBL – Habib Bank Limited for the confidence shown in financing the project, and to Orient Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. for their role in delivery.

Somewhere in Nooriabad, the wind is about to start paying for itself.
